On August 10th, the Hall of Presidents will celebrate the birthday of Herbert Hoover in a special way…with Girl Scout Cookies! You’re probably wondering what the connection is between the Depression-era President and Thin Mints. His wife, First Lady Lou Henry Hoover, was instrumental in the Girl Scouts organization and even served as their president. She organized the very first Girl Scout cookie drive in 1935. They were a little different then—instead of 11 varieties in prepackaged boxes, they had one recipe for sugar cookies, and the girls baked them themselves!
We hope to see you for this delicious birthday celebration!
