Building off of the success of the Historic Taverns of Adams County Tour offered by Gettysburg Tours at the 2014 Gettysburg Brew Fest an updated version is being offered the this year in conjunction with the August 22nd Gettysburg Brew Fest.
Two tours are offered: Noon – 1:45 pm and 2:15 – 4 pm
Join us on Saturday afternoon for this intriguing look back on these old taverns and inns and the interesting proprietors that ran them. The tour will meander through Gettysburg and Adams County’s scenic roads, backroads, and byways. As we tour, Licensed Battlefield Guide John Winkelman will talk about the importance of inns and taverns in 18th and 19th century America and how the events of July 1863 would impact these establishments. Includes one “step-off” stop at Battlefield Brew Works, where you will enjoy a sample of two (2) of their craft brews. Special Brew Fest tour only $22 (bus will pick up and drop off at the main entrance to the Gettysburg Brew Fest on Seminary Ridge at Rabbit Transit’s Blue Line bus stop in front of the Wentz Library).
