Trial by Fire: The Iron Brigade

The Iron Brigade, famed infantry brigade of the Union Army of the Potomac, was known for being tough as iron and extraordinarily disciplined. Explore the battlefield and walk McPherson Ridge and Culp’s Hill to learn how this dogged group faired on July 1st and affected the rest of the battle. Stops will include the Lutheran Seminary, Eastern & Western sides of McPherson Ridge, Oak Hill, the North Carolina or Tennessee monuments, the Peach Orchard, Little Round Top, High Water Mark and Culp’s Hill.
**This tour is recommended for ages 13 and older. The tour will be ideal for first-time visitors and those who have a prior understanding of the battle and are interested in learning about the soldiers’ experience in more depth.
