Quick Apple Crisp

With Fall right around the corner, we in Adams County are fortunate to live in one of the top apple producing counties in the United States. Below is a recipe that is wonderful for those soon to be crisp cool nights using Adams County apples, of course.

Quick Apple Crisp

  • 8 Granny Smith apples, sliced
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 ½ cups of quick brown oats
  • 1 ½ cups brown sugar
  • 1 cup of flour
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • ¾ cup butter

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Arrange apple slices in a greased, deep baking dish. Sprinkle sugar over slices. Combine oats, brown sugar, flour, and spices. Cut in butter. Mix well and spread over apples. Bake 35-40 minutes. Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream. Makes 6-8 servings.

Enjoy!
