Memorial Wreaths

On Friday, November 30th, the graves of over 1,600 Veterans in the Gettysburg National Cemetery will be adorned with special Christmas Wreaths. The volunteers for this project will meet at 8:00 AM on November 30th at the Giant Food Store parking lot on Route 30/York Road in Gettysburg, where they will tie the bows on the wreaths. At 1:00, they will gather at the Taneytown Road entrance to the Cemetery and begin to place the wreaths.

The holiday wreath placement is an initiative of the Sgt Mac Foundation, begun by the parents of Marine Corps Sergeant and Gettysburg native Eric McColley, who was killed in the line of duty in 2006. The Sgt Mac Foundation welcomes your support and attendance in this commemorative undertaking.

Is the 2017 Memorial Wreaths for the Christmas holiday being done on Thursday, November 30th or Friday, December 1st?

  2. Kendra says:

Thanks for catching that! We received the wrong information and apologize to anyone who missed the wreath-laying because of that.
