Each month Gettysburg businesses join forces to offer special events and refreshments. Approximately 45 businesses throughout Historic Gettysburg participate by hosting special receptions, guest artists and authors, sales and later business hours.

Look for the First Friday banner at participating Gettysburg area shops, galleries, restaurants and businesses.  Visit our website for this month’s theme and a list of participating businesses and special offers.

Celebrate the 4th of July with a glorious display of fireworks. Parking will be available in the Gettysburg College Stadium Lots, North, South and West. Rain date is July 5th.

Fourth of July Gala Orchestra Concert & Fireworks

Time: 8:00pm

Celebrate the 4th of July with a FREE family pops concert on the beautiful north lawn of Penn Hall at Gettysburg College.  The concert will feature patriotic tunes played by the professional musicians of the Metta Ensemble and the Gettysburg Chamber Orchestra led by conductors Alexander Kahn and Norman Nunamaker.  Special appearance by acclaimed actor Stephen Lang. Mr. Majestic, Jeffrey Gabel, will emcee the festivities which will conclude around 9:30pm with a glorious display of fireworks.  Be sure to pack a picnic supper and bring your own lawn chairs. Food will also be available for purchase. Rain Location- College Union Ballroom. Rain date for fireworks is July 5th. Parking will be available at the Stadium Lots, North, South and West.

Concert sponsored by the Majestic Theater, the President’s Office of Gettysburg College, Sunderman Conservatory of Music and Destination Gettysburg.

    We are. going on vacation in August and was wanting to come to Gettysburg for a few days. we would probably be coming on the sixth after our stop in Lancaster. what to do and where to stay?
