Thursday, February 2-Saturday, February 4  Gettysburg Rocks Music Festival.  Held at various locations.  Proceeds benefit The Four Diamonds, which benefits children.  Featuring 160 live bands and musicians at 14 venues.  Visit the website at:  www.gburgrocks.com for details.

Friday, February 3  First Friday.  Featuring artist receptions, book signings, live music, demonstrations, special sales and later business  hours (until 8 PM).  Presented by the Gettysburg Area Retail Merchants’ Association.  Look for the First Friday banner at participating Gettysburg area shops, galleries, tours and restaurants.

Saturday, February 4  Jennie Wade House/Orphanage Combo Tour.  Presented by Ghostly Images, 777 Baltimore Street.  Tours depart from Ghostly Images.  7 PM.  Held also January 28, February 11, 18 & 25 as well as Sunday, February 19.  Call 717-334-6296 for ticket information. Saturday, February 11  Gettysburg Battlefield Book Series.  At the Ford Education Center, Gettysburg National Military Park Museum & Visitor Center, 1195 Baltimore Pike.  From 11 AM to noon.  Featured title is Sickles at Gettysburg.  Discussion will continue Saturdays through March 11.  Call 717-334-1124, ext. 8023 for details.

Friday, March 10-Sunday, March 12  Reenactor Appreciation Weekend. Reenactors from all periods welcome.  Many programs, merchant specials, lodging and restaurant discounts.  Free admission to several museums for Reenactors in any period dress, as well as a Victorian social and musical at The 1863 Inn of Gettysburg, Battlefield Tour with a Licensed Battlefield Guide, walking town tour and a special viewing of the movie Gettysburg in recognition of its 25th anniversary hosted by Patrick Falci.  A great weekend to honor our Reenactors and history.  For more information, go to www.reenactorappreciationweekend.com.
