Located on the Wheatfield Road the memorial to the 96th PA Infantry can be found. This unit would not see action during the battle as it was placed in a defensive role. They would hold onto this assignment until the pursuit of General Lee’s army began on July 5th.
The defensive nature of their duties is depicted by the prone infantryman as he watches for sign of enemy movement.
This memorial was dedicated on June 21, 1888 at the cost of $1500.00
