155th PA Infantry

155th PA InfantryLocated on the summit of Little Round Top the monument to the 155th PA. Infantry can be found. This marks their position on July 2nd & 3rd as they watched for a return visit by the Confederates. ┬áThe Veteran’s Association used money for this marker that was raised exclusively by veterans & friends in the Pittsburgh, PA area.

Private Samuel W. Hill formerly of company F of this regiment was used as the model for the life sized, fully armed & equipped statue of the soldier in zouave uniform atop the marker.

Dedicated on September 17, 1886 & crafted from Ryegate & Hardwick granite this monument cost $3,000.00
